Bird Watching on Doi Inthanon National Park

doi inthanon bird watchingBeing considered as the first-class bird watching site in Thailand, Doi Inthanon, the Thailand’s highest mountain, has a full richness and abundance for its perfect forest complex with the differences in landscape; a mixed forest on lower land and a tropical rain forest on upper altitude. There, many rare species of bird can be found to look out from many local birds to wintering species; Grey Bushchats, Siberian Ruby throats, Buff-throated and so on. It can be said that this is internationally recognized as the home of bird watching location and the paradise of many bird watchers.

To get to know more about bird watching, you can visit Bird Watching Information Centre or Uncle Daeng’s Shop located at 31 Kilometers. The centre is a bird information exchange centre suggesting the habitat and species of bird and a restaurant offering tourists and birdwatchers varieties of food, and binocular for rent.

Best season: Winter time is a good time to see rare migrant birds including Eurasian Woodcock, White Wagtail, Grey Wagtail, Yellow Wagtail, Citrine Wagtail, Forest Wagtail, Chestnut Thrush, Scarlet Finch, Little Bunting, and Crested Bunting.
